A place to be open and vulnerable about our mental health. The first step to breaking the stigma is to start conversation.

Hi! My name is Enya, and I’m 17 years old (as of 2023) living in Manitoba. I really love cats!

I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety throughout my life, and it’s something that’s impacted me greatly.

There’s lots of issues surrounding mental health care, including stigma, accessibility needs, and the sheer cost of therapy and meds that aren’t covered by insurance. I would love to see more supports and action taken to improve those areas.

The first step we can take is to remove the stigma around mental illness, so that people feel safe enough to ask for help. No one should have to suffer alone. Sharing your story, (although terrifying) can help open the door and make people feel more okay to open up to others, and from there access the supports they need.

Times can be difficult, but I want you to know that as long as you’re still here and still breathing, you’re doing amazing. Don’t underestimate the power of taking a breath. I know everyone says to breathe, but it can really help you a lot. If you can’t focus, download an app or watch a video to follow.

I know this has been long, but thanks for reading! Please take care of yourself <3
